Patty Evers, MA, LPC - Supervisor
My specialties include Adjustment, Parenting and Family Issues, Grief and Loss and Trauma. The two counseling theories that I adhere closest to are Solution-Focused and Existentialism. These theories are very different and the usage of them depends on how deeply the client is ready to go in our time together.
I view my role as a therapist is as one who compassionately listens and reframes stories in a way that assists the client in seeing their potential and making better decisions. I believe that it is the best way to draw on a person's inner qualities and bring them to the forefront.

I am passionate about helping people resolve difficult issues and create healthier, happier futures and believes that the secret to resolving difficult issues is uncovering the root issues that are keeping people stuck.
My training includes EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is an evidence-based therapy that has proven to be effective in treating trauma. My other specialties include:

I believe that the most important part of therapy is creating a safe and caring relationship between the therapist and the client. It is within this relationship that all the growth and healing occurs and without it little can be achieved.

It is my experience that life often challenges us in ways we are not prepared for. I also believe we are not meant to solve such problems alone. Yet, even if we ask for it, we can find that not all help is very helpful. It is easy to become frustrated and despair at "help" which does not, especially if we feel that we are simply 'doing it wrong'. Every person presents with a unique set of strengths and difficulties. In order to match my assistance with the need I use more than m training in Psychology. I use my education in Western Biomedicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, the spiritual wisdom of various faiths and my training as a U.S. Army Soldier. No single field holds all the answers.
